Did you know Costa Rica is renowned for producing some of the world's best coffee? Its coffee industry has a rich history that dates back to the 18th century. The country's tropical climate, fertile red clay and volcanic soils, and high altitudes provide ideal growing conditions for the Arabica bean, resulting in a coffee that is characterized by its bright acidity, sweetness, and complex aroma.
Costa Rican coffee is typically grown using sustainable and environmentally friendly practices, which has helped the country earn a reputation as a leader in the specialty coffee industry. Whether enjoyed as a morning pick-me-up or an afternoon indulgence, a cup of this brew is sure to delight coffee lovers around the world and set the stage for a great day!
Known for its mildness, Costa Rican coffee explodes with rich toffee and caramel flavors enhanced by hints of apple, berry, and chocolate. The best way to brew it is to use a pour-over method. First, grind the coffee beans to a medium-fine consistency. Then, heat water to around 200°F and pour it into the pour-over filter, allowing it to heat up the filter and warm up the mug. Discard the water and add the ground coffee to the filter. Slowly pour the hot water over the coffee in a circular motion, ensuring that all the grounds are saturated. Allow the coffee to drip through the filter into the mug. Enjoy the delicious aroma and flavors of Costa Rican coffee! (It also tastes great using a basic drip coffee pot, but the first way will make you feel fancy 😉.)
